Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between your organization and [Legal entity name — to be confirmed] ("Stewardly", "we", "us") covering your use of the Stewardly service. By signing in you accept them on behalf of your organization, and you confirm you are authorized to do so.

The service

Stewardly is a donor-stewardship assistant. It connects to systems your organization already uses, assembles what it finds into briefs and answers, and drafts messages for you to review. It is a tool for people who are accountable for the work, not a replacement for them.

Accounts

Accounts are created by an administrator and belong to an organization. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your password and your connected accounts secure. Tell us at support@stewardly.fyi if you believe an account has been compromised. Do not share an account between people.

Your data

Your organization's data stays your organization's. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, process it, transmit it to the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and display it back to the people in your organization. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train any generalized artificial-intelligence model.

You are responsible for having the right to connect the systems you connect, and for the lawfulness of the donor information they contain — including any consent or notice the people in your records are owed.

Connected accounts

When you connect Google, Microsoft, Slack, Salesforce, Stripe, ActBlue, Givebutter or EveryAction, you authorize Stewardly to act with the permissions you granted, and you remain bound by those providers' own terms. We ask for the narrowest permissions the features need: mail is read and drafted but never sent, calendars, Salesforce and your donation platforms are read-only apart from a Givebutter activity note you ask us to log, and the Slack search behind an organization-visible brief is restricted to public channels. You can disconnect any of them at any time; doing so removes the feature that depended on it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Stewardly to send unlawful, harassing, or deceptive communications;
• upload or connect data you have no right to;
• attempt to reach another organization's data, probe or interfere with the service, or circumvent any limit or security control;
• resell the service, or use it to build a competing product;
• use it for automated bulk messaging or any purpose it was not designed for.

Model output

Briefs, answers and drafts are produced by large language models and can be incomplete or wrong. Every claim in a brief carries a link to its source so you can check it before you act. You are responsible for reviewing anything Stewardly writes before you send it, publish it, or rely on it — and Stewardly cannot send a message on your behalf, by design.

Subscriptions and payment

Paid plans are billed through Stripe on the interval shown at checkout, in advance and automatically, until cancelled. Prices are as displayed at the time you subscribe. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires it. We will give notice before a price change takes effect for you.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Stewardly at any time and ask us to close your organization's account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or whose fees are unpaid — with notice where circumstances allow. On closure we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Our intellectual property

The Stewardly software, design and name are ours. These terms grant your organization a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your subscription is current, and nothing more.

Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that anything a model writes will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the amount your organization paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Indemnity

Your organization will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your data, your use of the service in breach of these terms, or your violation of law or of another's rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing jurisdiction — to be confirmed], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive venue over any dispute.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the date at the top, and we will notify account holders by email before a material change takes effect. Continuing to use Stewardly after that means you accept the new terms.
